Key facts:

· Apprenticeships are available in any sector or job role, from Level 2 to Level 7 including degree apprenticeships.
· Employers benefit by boosting the skills of the workforce and help to improve productivity.
· Individuals learn and gain valuable skills, knowledge and behaviours specific to their job role.
· Apprenticeships are available in 1,500 occupations, across 170 industries.
· Businesses of all sizes and sectors can recruit an apprentice and develop workforce skills.
· The Apprenticeship can last anything from 12 months to 4 years.

How do they work?

We will work with you to ensure the apprenticeship/training offered is the most appropriate for the individual’s job role, whilst reflecting on the individual employer and learner needs. Most of the training is on-the-job, working with the training providers workplace trainer/mentor to learn job specific skills in the workplace.
Off-the-job training will depend on the occupational area, the training organisation and the requirements and wishes of the employer.
This training may be delivered in the workplace, through workshops, 1-2-1, virtual classrooms, e learning, day release or at premises away from the working environment. On completion of the apprenticeship the individual will have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to perform tasks confidently.

Employer benefits include:

· Improving productivity in the workplace.
· Increasing employee satisfaction.
· Reducing staff turnover.
· Reducing recruitment costs.

Other benefits:
· The government will also pay employers, no matter what size, £1,000 for each 16-18 year old apprentice they employ. According to ESFA.
· Employers may not required to pay National Insurance Contributions for apprentices under the age of 25 on earnings below the higher tax rate of £827 a week (£43,000 a year). According to HMRC.

‘Liz worked with us at Merseytravel to provide coaching sessions to the team, which supported us to understand the requirements of the apprenticeship levy, clarifying how we identified needs, consider how to develop a plan for procuring services and how we will measure quality control and supplier relationships on-going, understanding how the digital account works and how we can forecast budget expenditure over the lifetime of the apprenticeship. We have found Liz to be professional and supportive in her approach as well as being able to offer expert advice/signposting when needed. I would highly recommend Liz to anyone requiring Apprenticeship and Levy support.’

'Liz was a great help to me whilst launching our in-house ILM programme. Her knowledge of funded training and qualifications is vast and it was nice that she was also able to share her experience as a student. During the times we met Liz was a consummate professional, demonstrating focus and drive, coupled with a down to earth and personable nature.'

To date we have recruited over 30 apprentices with Liz’s help and guidance. 'Liz assisted Tranmere in setting up the Club's new educational programmes. She is highly experienced in understanding the complex world of funding for apprenticeships and traineeships. She has various commercial and public sector partners through her time at the SFA.'
Tranmere Rovers Football Club

'We would like to congratulate Liz on her tremendous work in helping our firm with Fire Marshall Training and First Aid Training – we couldn’t have asked for a more helpful and polite lady, Liz went above and beyond when trying to sort out our training requirements.'
FPH Law

'I have worked with Liz in a professional capacity for several years. Liz has offered our business support with recruitment, the sourcing of suitable training providers and appropriate funding arrangements, depending on what has been available at that point in time. I have always found Liz to be supportive, friendly, professional and helpful, such support proving invaluable in respect of the mechanics of the apprenticeship levy and how this works in practice. Liz has sourced various different service providers to deliver apprenticeship training during our professional relationship and also ensured, as far as possible, a seamless transfer of training provider part way through apprenticeship opportunities within the business due to the unfortunate business collapse of that service provider. I would not hesitate to recommend Liz as a knowledgeable , helpful and efficient professional in this field of expertise.'
